As you can see we will be very busy this year HELPING OTHERS. Please pray daily for Gods support & blessing on our actions. We have a very busy May and we will need parent help most definitely.
The last two years we did a lot growth inwardly to feed our spiritual needs and find His purpose in our lives. This year we will Glorify God by our actions in service to do what we have learned to be his will.
Our mission to help others begins with forty days of prayer for all the children of Connersville , USA and the world. Then we will participate in a citywide youth car wash to raise money (along with the national youth at www.washforlife.org ) for a pro-life group. We chose the Hope Pregnancy Center to receive the money. By racking fall leaves and preparing & serving a Thanksgiving dinner, we will honor our elderly and give thanks for all they do & teach us. We hope to kick off Advent with a great program and craft in the evening followed by the Great Epiphany celebration following Church service. It is time to focus on Jesus in our lives and prepare for Youth Sunday but During February we will serve at the Lord’s Table thinking of others. We will finish strong with helping others on Memorial Day, camp, VBS and Fair Parade.
I want to help at camp as a councilor & hope more kids will attend. God has provided extra funds & I pray you parents will get your kids to attend. It will be a life changing experience for them.
The First United Methodist Church has VBS this year. I ask that you all pray on this activity. We need to have more kids attend. There is plenty of help from adults however our attendance has been 15 to 25 kids. Please pray for our organizers to have a great idea given to us by the Holy Spirit for next year.
The Fair Parade Mission was so rewarding we will joyfully do it again.
I do want to do more trips and retreats in 2009. I would ask you to look at the Christian theme park in Orlando , Florida at www.holylandexperience.com God keeps telling me this is our next trip for the youth along with a mission trip. I must admit that I am afraid of taking on such responsibility. God willing we will do these trips.
I encourage you as families to attend the Acquire The Fire: Branded by God concert in Muncie during March and Spirit Song Fest at King’s Island in July for info go to www.sonshineconcerts.com. Or call 1513-5624949 .The youth really enjoyed these. Also remember the Paraclete Retreat Center with Dick & Pat Haynes doing Gods work.

The following is a description of this year’s Missions:
LIGHT A CANDLE
We begin with the Prayer Vigil for children around the world to come to know Christ our Lord and Savior. We pray that they gain knowledge from the Word and wisdom from the Holy Spirit. A Special offering will go to the Ronald McDonald House.
RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
We choose to participate in this mission because it is personal to several of our youth. They wish to pay it forward so others can feel God’s love when most needed. Please help us with this mission throughout his year. We hope to collect 5 pounds of tabs. You will find buckets located at the rear of the church, in the youth room and kitchen.
HOPE PREGNANCY CENTER
We Call it “4 th Sunday 4 Baby” Please bring baby items to church on the fourth Sunday of each month throughout the year. There are many young women who struggle to provide for their young all year long. We can be part of the one place they can get help. A bassinette will be place at the top of the stairway every 4 th Sunday. Remember- Jesus said “when you do it for the least of man, you do it for me.”
BOTTLE BRIGADE / NATURE CONSERVANCY
We plan to help families in India through the Life/Tear Fund and the Alternative Gift Catalogue. We would like to purchase an acre of farmland ($25 dollars for each acre). Please help us to help the earth as well as man by bringing in your bottles (terra cycle = .15 cents & 2-liters = .05 cents) to the youth room. Our goal is to fill the room. We will be part of a Nation Wide recycling campaign that has rescued 1.8 million bottles from the landfills and saved 22,0000 square feet of rainforest.
LORD’S TABLE
Once a year we help at the Lord’s Table to prepare and serve dinner to the needy. This is important to us because it is our Churches local mission for the Salvation Army.
AREA YOUTH MISSION
Along with the local youth of our area, we will trick or treat for can goods on Halloween which will be taken to the Community Share Foundation. It is fun to participate with other Christian Youth Groups.
